After receiving my diploma as a Computer Engineer in 2005, I worked in both Management Information Systems (MIS) and Project Management for 6 years. In an effort to stay healthy, with a full-time desk job, I enrolled in fitness kickboxing (KickFit) classes, and it was there that I was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) for the first time. I instantly fell in love with both KickFit and BJJ, and it wasn’t long before I knew a shift in my career path was underway! I trained vigorously on a daily basis for a full year while simultaneously maintaining my full-time job and teaching KickFit classes for beginners. I finally made a permanent change to a career in sports, first by becoming a KickFit instructor followed by taking part in international Jiu Jitsu competitions, under the supervision of 5 Dan Black Belt Master Samy AlJamal. I started training crossfit at QuickSand Crossfit to improve myself for Jiu Jitsu, and I started coaching KickFit classes in both MAT05 (FIT BJJ Team - Samy AlJamal) , as well as, QuickSand in order to help inspire more people to train, become more aware of their physical bodies, look after their health, and invest in their happiness & well being.
I became sponsored by amazing companies that believed in my goals and supported my growth, and vision. My major sponsor along the way has been Aramex, a company that played a huge role in my life, first by welcoming me into their MIS Team as a Computer Engineering graduate back in 2005, followed by becoming my sponsor & supporting all my international jiu jitsu competitions around the world since 2013. I got sponsored by Quicksand Crossfit in 2014. Not only did they support my training through out the years, but also they welcomed me into their coaches team and allowed me to introduce KickFit into their locations. Royal Jordanian Airlines took me on board as their Brand Ambassador for the year 2017, an experience that definitely allowed me to reach and inspire more people in the region and around the world. MuscleTech, a brand that continues to provide the most premium supplements in the world, chose me as one of their brand ambassadors in the region in 2017, and I'm excited to still be part of their team in the region promoting their brand along with my vision of health & wellness.
Throughout every journey in life, there are ups & downs, and I guess for every person, there are different levels of them. I had my fair share of both, but a few marked a wake up call. One was a condition which most people know as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). I had it for years, but it reached it's maximum unbearable level back in 2012. Most conventional doctors used to tell me there isn't a solution for it other than stopping eating the types of food that bothered me or lowering their quantities in order to stop the IBS symptoms, but at that point everything was bothering me, all types, and all quantities. I couldn't believe that it's a chronic condition, and I couldn't believe the idea that it had no cure. I thought there must be a solution, one that they are not aware of, so I decided to search for physical and mental options, whatever it takes to heal.
On a physical level, in addition to constantly working out, because it made me feel better, I tried all kinds of suggested diets & lifestyle plans, and was in constant determination on studying and figuring out my body's reaction to whatever researches, studies or experiences were out there, simply because every person is different on so many levels, and I wanted to see things from my perspective rather than others, with all the pros & cons surrounding that experience, in order to understand & figure out a solution . On the mental level, I started my research on IBS, looking into it from a psychological perspective, and searching for doctors that believed in curing patients with such a condition. In mid 2012, a friend from the UK suggested I look into Hypnotherapy, and thankfully I stumbled upon the website of a leading hypnotherapist in the UK. He was an IBS Specialist/Clinical Hypnotherapist that had an IBS reduction of symptoms success rate of 85%-95% in patients & had an online 100 day audio program that was clinically researched and awarded. I saw hope, and I decided it to try it out.
I took on the 100 days audio program, did it by the book, and was amazed to see so much improvement. This made me realize how much of it is linked to the psychological and emotional state. We say the word 'stress', but we all know 'stress' is a pretty general word that covers way more than it implies. However, once I stopped listening to the audio, the symptoms started coming back, not as vigorous, but let's just say it didn't completely vanish. At that point, I was told to do it again, and that each time, I'll improve more, but that made me want to understand what hypnotherapy was, what part of the brain or body it affected, what other techniques of healing are there, what happens when you stop it, is there something that can compliment it, and so on. During that period, I got introduced to a wonderful Holistic Counselor & Coach, one that I ended up working with for years. I got to learn from her how to use other techniques, I got to deal with so many layers of experiences, emotions, habits, cycles, ..etc., and I got to learn how to constantly work on myself in my own free time with constant determination, which allowed me to clear myself of IBS symptoms in a year. The symptoms decreased tremendously and you could say I was 95% healed! A remarkable transformation, more like a miracle!
Being healed of something that was thought of as chronic or "dead end" made me realize that there is a whole other world to explore. My curiosity around holistic & alternative medicine increased, and I started practicing constantly what I knew while researching around it, asking, reading, exploring, looking for answers, and working with a few close friends that knew what I was striving for. With the intention of growing & healing in that respect. While using it to get through my challenges in life. Whether it was simple fears, plans, work problems, athletic performance issues, injuries, competitions, or weight issues, etc. It became a constant, to a point where I saw proof of it's effect, and my vision became to help others the way I was helped. So I decided to study in order to further build my knowledge along with the experience that I had. I decided to practice it & make it my own, and here I am done with my Bachelor in Holistic Health Sciences along with my coaching certificate. Moving through to my Masters degree craving for more knowledge & more practice everyday. Ready to help others while constantly working on becoming a better version of myself. My aim is to be the best that I can be, and help others do so as well. Yes, it is definitely an ongoing process, and yes I'm ready for it! Are you?!?
